Characters

The ensemble cast includes: the athlete, the cheerleader, the quiet kid, the stoner, the tutor, the principal, the teacher and the janitor. All the characters are involved in the storyline but their reactions and experiences are different. The viewers will see the various pressures of sports, school, friends and family through the eyes of the different characters.

Chase – (The Athlete)

It’s the day of the pep rally and Chase, the quarterback, is nervous. Everyone is counting on him to win tomorrow’s game. This is the season he can prove to his overbearing father that he is the best. Chase’s father has been living vicariously through his victories and success for years. His father’s pressure and pride are the only reasons why Chase is still playing football. But will this pressure ultimately crack him?

Cameron – (The Cheerleader)

It’s the day of the pep rally and Cameron is ready to cheer her team to victory. She is going out with the star football player; she’s the head cheerleader and one of the most popular students in school. But no one knows what’s going on in her real life. Her mother’s been sick for months and she hasn’t told anyone. She doesn’t want any pity from her friends. As her mother’s health worsens, she doesn’t know who to turn to.

Scott – (The Loner)

It’s the day of the pep rally and Scott has just received some mixed news. He has received an acceptance letter to Columbia but he has no means of financing it. He has applied for scholarships and grants but still doesn’t have enough money so he’s resorted to selling drugs to the snobby rich kids that plague the hallways.

Ethan – (The Stoner)

It’s the day of the pep rally and, like always, Ethan is not sober. He has been doing some sort of drug since he was 12 years-old. He’s from a wealthy part of the neighborhood and can afford anything and everything. He has a nonexistent relationship with his parents as they would rather throw money at him than have a functional parent-child relationship. His is fatigued, moody, and has been acting out in school. His risky behavior is affecting everyone around him and he must find a way to gain back control of his life.

Jess – (The Geek)

It’s the day of the pep rally and Jess is ready to meet with Chase for their scheduled Calculus session. Poor Jess is responsible for helping Chase maintain the necessary GPA requirement. She has the girl-next-door-beauty and does not know it. She keeps her heart hidden as she is afraid to be vulnerable to anyone. Jess is trying to keep things focused on school but she realizes that she is missing out from being the bookworm. To make matters worse, she is trying to find her place among the social ladder that is high school and finds that Chase is the one person who really understands her.

Bobby – (The Janitor)

It’s the day of the pep rally and Bobby has been sweeping the floors trying to get every last piece of confetti off the floor from the pep rally. It is useless! The more he cleans, the dirtier it gets. Students hoot and holler at him as they pass by. Bobby gets no respect. He remembers the wonderful memories of walking the halls with his former high school sweetheart, now wife. But he’s working three jobs to try and pay for her chemotherapy.

Kate Evans – (The Principal)

It’s the day of the pep rally and, Ms. Kate Evans is praying for a win so the school gets the funding it so desperately needs. A win brings publicity for Madison High School and that shows the Board of Education that it is a well-rounded place of learning. To make matters worse, Ms. Evans’s husband of 10 years has left her for a younger woman.

Mark Thompson – (The Teacher)

It’s the day of the pep rally and Mr. Mark Thompson has to collect the papers from his junior English class. As a teacher he hopes to influence the minds of his students, but he feels as though he is failing them. The students don’t take him seriously because he is only 24 years old and recently out of college. Mr. Thompson is an attractive man who gets the unwanted attention of his female students. His secret, he would rather have the attention of the men.
